Specialty Coffee needs America | America needs its own Specialty Coffee Association

I was born and raised in a hallmark European coffee nation, The Netherlands. Nevertheless, I do feel 100% American in regards of specialty coffee.

The specialty coffee industry started as a trend in the United States and during the past thirty years, specialty coffee became the cornerstone of the global coffee industry.

During the past three years we literally lost "our" Specialty Coffee Association. The SCA headquarters in London is out of touch with the American coffee industry, not in sync with the American spirit of specialty coffee and insensitive to -what I consider- hallmark values that have allowed the specialty coffee community to thrive.
